Community Sport Coordinator – Bowls
Fixed term 12 months

Do you have a passion to make a difference in Bowls?

This role is to work with local West Auckland bowling clubs to grow participation in bowls for targeted populations groups. A key aspect of this role is to support clubs to effectively engage and provide bowling experiences for these particular population groups. The Coordinator will also work alongside Healthy Families Waitakere to support bowling clubs be healthy environments. The ideal person will have an understanding of diverse cultures and the sporting and recreation sector.

 Community Strength and Balance Trainer 
30 hours per week 
Fixed Term: 1-2.5 years

Do you have a passion for the health and wellbeing of older adults?

This role is to work with local West Auckland strengths and balance classes (or similar) to grow the number and quality of strength and balance opportunities for older adults. A key aspect of this role is to support current providers as well as initiate and establish programmes as required. The Community Strength and Balance Trainer will also work closely with GPs, health professionals and the Harbour Sport Green Prescription team. The ideal person will have a qualification in sport and recreation, exercise prescription and group exercise.

Funskills Coordinator

(10 hours per week, Fixed term 12 months)

Do you have a passion for inspiring young children to develop their physical literacy?

Sport Waitakere is excited to offer this position to support the development of physical literacy in primary aged children across West Auckland. The ideal person will work in the Young Peoples Team delivering skills to young children using a physical literacy approach.
